Thank You Pittsburgh!

Pittsburgh is headquarters to Bayer’s North American operations — Bayer MaterialScience, LLC; Bayer Corporate and Business Services, LLC; and MEDRAD, Inc. In this great city, at this time of shared celebration, I feel especially fortunate to lead Bayer Corporation. I am immensely proud of the inventive, dedicated people of Bayer — both past and present — whose talents have brought us to this moment. I am grateful to my predecessors for having the foresight to relocate to Pittsburgh, which has done so much to foster our company’s success. Above all, I am deeply gratified by the relationship of mutual support that has developed between Bayer and the region in which we have put down our roots. Bayer and Pittsburgh have helped each other to grow and to prosper for 50 years. During our five decades together, the former Steel City has broadened its business infrastructure and become a world-class center for technology, medicine, education and the arts. In the same time frame, our small chemicals company has grown into a research-driven, industry leader with our three North American subgroups — Bayer HealthCare, Bayer CropScience and Bayer MaterialScience — helping to shape the future and invent solutions that benefit mankind. Some of that eventful history is depicted on this site. I hope you will follow the path leading to this anniversary milestone, and locate the numerous points at which our company and this welcoming community converge.
